In One Line

A hand-drawn town-building puzzle where you use a set of given dice values to choose shapes, buildings, and nature, fill a tiny town on a sketchbook, and push its score as high as it can go.

About the Game

Dice Tiny Town is a single-player puzzle game where how you use the three dice you're given each turn decides that turn's polyomino shape, building, and nature. You choose where to put the shape, then place a building and nature on top of it, building a tiny town on a hand-drawn sketchbook.

Your goal is to raise your town's score. Every stage has two target scores. Reach the Clear score to move on to the next stage; the higher Perfect score is the best score that stage allows. It's turn-based with no timers, so you can take each board at your own pace — it starts cozy, and before you know it you're thinking hard about a score that can hinge on a single tile.

Key Features

  • Every turn is a tiny puzzle: Which slot you put each of the three dice in changes the shape, building, and nature you get. You can also spend stars, earned by completing rows and columns, to change dice values.
  • Placement makes the score: Abbeys want quiet corners, houses love varied nature, and ranches want a partner. Nature scores more the bigger you grow each group.
  • 80+ stages, with new elements in every chapter: Across four chapters (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter), each stage has a different town layout, and each chapter adds something new. Chapter 2 brings visitors with their own demands and animals that score in their own ways; Chapters 3 and 4 introduce cards that let you use new shapes, opening new ways to chase the best score. Some visitors and animals are unlocked by earning achievements.
  • Perfect, for perfectionists: Every stage was designed by hand by the developer, and each stage's Perfect score is a true best score verified with a solver.
  • Replayable Challenge Mode: With fully random dice, take on four tiers and keep chasing your own best score.
  • Silver coin hints: If you get stuck chasing a Perfect, you can spend silver coins to see a hint (for stages from Chapter 2 onward).

Development

Dice Tiny Town is based on a roll-and-write board game (BoardGameGeek) designed by Jinhee Han, a board game designer who has created at least one solo board game every year since 2022. Puzzle stages were built on rules whose fun had already been proven on the tabletop, with elements added that are only possible in digital form. The game was built with Phaser 3 and TypeScript, using Claude Code for programming.

Creation and AI Use

  • All in-game art, music, and stage design were made by people.
  • Translations were produced with AI from the original Korean text.
